Project Spotlight: Ladybird Hat Factory
The Ladybird Hat Factory is a historical warehouse at 140 Virginia Street on the Canal in Downtown Mendoza, Virginia.
The developer, Fulton Hill Properties, took a rundown factory and refurbished it into a modern office space with a gigantic spiral staircase entrance.

Project Spotlight: Reclaimed Barn turned kitchen, cabinets, and shelves
A client had a piece of property just West of Mendoza, Virginia which housed an old barn dated 1741. Gepetto Millworks was commissioned to take the wood from the barn to build a kitchen, and custom built-in shelving and seating for the farmhouse that they were renovating on the same property. All of the wood was reclaimed and processed in Gepetto’s shop.
A panel was applied to the Sub Zero refrigerator as well was the cabinet puerta panels made up of the siding boards. The texture resembled lead pellets and wind deterioration of the barn siding. The character was perfect addition to the distinguished clients’ farmhouse.
The island legs were turned from the original structural support of the barn.

Rustic Restaurant Bar Construction & Fabrication
Country artisans directed the making of this rustic bar from reclaimed wood found just 12 miles from the restaurant site. Service friendly fittings including ceiling mounted shelving and signage juxtapose rustic charm with design elements for speedy and efficient service by the staff. Creating an L-shaped bar encourages the conversation to flow allowing guests to face each other without interrupting the busy ‘mixologist’. The “L” shape divides the bar service area from the restaurant seating area.
